What can you expect when starting therapy?

After you contact us to set up an appointment, we discuss your needs to determine if our expertise would be of help.

If we believe we might be of help, we schedule a consultation to go over the details of your circumstance in more depth.

At the end of the consultation we decide the best course of action together.

If it seems like therapy may be of help, we proceed with therapy.

We provide therapy as a treatment for distress or emotional pain, a method for understanding yourself, and a path to creating and enriching intimate and loving relationships.

Individuals

Many people experience uncomfortable symptoms like feelings of depression or anxiety, or have experienced a difficult event in their history like child abuse or a trauma. Our goal is to help alleviate the discomfort. However, we know that growth is not just a reduction in pain but also an effort to make life meaningful and fulfilling. We help you build the life you want to live.

Couples

Romantic relationships can be among the most meaningful connections we experience—but they can also present us with real challenges. Our work with couples helps solve problems and achieve new levels of closeness.

Financial Information

Therapy frequently requires an investment in time, emotional and intellectual energy, and finances, just as other investments such as a college education might require.
